On April 4th and 5th, 2015, Tacoma Rifle and Revolver Club held their first match of the year.
This contest would determine the winner of the Allen Bench trophy. Saturday brought us a cold morning with some tricky wind conditions.
We began with our light varmint contest at 100 yards on Saturday morning which was won by Steve Kostanich with a .2020" agg.
That afternoon at 200, Rick Graham showed us all how its done, taking the 200 yd agg. (.2064").
Rick Graham easily won the LV grand aggregate (.2241").
Sunday brought more windy, but much warmer conditions for us. Mirage was playing a role in group sizes.
We shot the Heavy Varmint class at 200 yards in the morning. Larry Boers shot a .2122 agg. to win the yardage. At 100 yards in the afternoon, Larry Boers took the yardage with a tiny .1864" agg.
Larry Boers held on to win the HV grand aggregate with a teen agg(.1993") , and Larry Boers hold on to win the 2 gun with a .2351" agg!!
A good time was had by all. Great to see such a great turnout so early in the season!! Nice to get the gang all together once again.
Of special note: Thank you to Dan Kjelland for helping with the fly problem at 100 yds. Nice shooting Dan! You`ve earned the “No Fly Zone” sticker by Mustafa Bilal, who btw is thought by some shooters to be the Lord of the Flys. .
Happy to have shooting with us George MacDonald, and Allen Tucker who traveled from Oregon to come shoot with us.
